The sun will be at its peak from October 2024 through spring of 2025. This means that the Aurora is expected to be brighter and more dynamic than it has been in years. We will position ourselves at the best places to photograph these lights in Reine, with red fishing villages and dramatic snow capped mountains, and along the beaches and coast north of Leknes.

ITINERARY
DAY 1: Sun, February 23
Arrive at Oslo International Airport
(Most flights arrive early in the morning)
You will be greeted by Team JKPW upon arrival
1 PM - Check-in for our domestic flight from Oslo to Leknes
3 PM - Flight departs for Leknes
Transport to the historic village of Reine and check in to your private cabin. Meet & Greet with dinner to prepare for our workshop.
DAYS 2-4: Mon-Weds, February 24 - 26
We will spend evenings and nights chasing lights, and be back in time for breakfast and rest.
We will also have an occasional sunset or sunrise during the workshop depending on how busy we are with northern lights.
We will also have processing classes during the workshop to maximize your experience.
DAY 5: Thu, February 27
Breakfast, pack and check-out of our Reine cabins. We will drive north to Leknes and check in at our hotel. After a warm dinner, we will head out to the coast to chase the lights
DAY 6: Fri, February 28
Breakfast followed by rest; daytime visit to a local glass blower
Sunset along the coast, followed by night of chasing lights
DAY 7: Sat, March 1
Sunrise along the coast
Breakfast followed by rest
Night of chasing lights
DAY 8: Sun, March 2
Pack, breakfast and check-out of our Leknes hotel
Check-in for our return domestic flight to Oslo
Return home
Note: Any return flights home should be booked after 8 pm on March 2nd OR the following morning. (If you need to fly out the following morning, we can assist you with booking your hotel at the airport)

PROCESSING CLASS on site or via Zoom after the workshop
*Breakfast is included with your lodging. However, if we photograph longer than breakfast hours, breakfast will be your financial responsibility.

A NOTE ABOUT THE NORTHERN LIGHTS:
Northern Lights and nature can not be guaranteed. However, the prediction is strong, and we expect to have multiple nights over the period of the new moon where the aurora should be visible.
Please review our full cancellation and refund policy prior to registration as there are non-refundable and non-transferrable fees associated with each workshop.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Our workshops are designed for all skill levels and involve photographing sunrise and sunsets as well as other field sessions. While workshop locations vary, you should expect to walk relative distances with your equipment. Some workshops are more strenuous than others. If you have any health issues or concerns, please reach out to us prior to registration.
FITNESS LEVEL
EASY > MODERATE
Most spots we will explore are considered easy to navigate, though there may be some incline, uneven or wet ground that you need to walk on to get the optimal shot. You should be in general good health and capable of carrying your own equipment while we are out in the field.
FLIGHTS & ARRIVAL
OSL - Oslo Int’l
The above airport is the closest airport to our workshop location. You are always welcome to arrive early or depart later and settle in and explore before the workshop begins/ends!
EQUIPMENT
While we recommend certain equipment for our workshop, it’s not necessary for you to participate. Check out what our trip leader’s suggest & plan ahead for rentals, borrowing, etc.
IMPORTANT ARRIVAL & DEPARTURE NOTES
Please plan to arrive at OSL no later than 11 am on February 23rd. You can always arrive early - we are happy to assist you in booking a room at the airport hotel.
Please plan your return flight from OSL to the U.S. after 8 pm on March 2nd OR for the following morning. You may prefer to stay the additional night and depart on March 3rd and we can help arrange this lodging.
